FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How early can therapy start?
Therapy at NonaThrive is designed to engage individuals as young as three years old. We utilize age-appropriate methods to ensure children feel comfortable, safe, and engaged in their therapeutic journey, helping them thrive from an early age. We see patients starting at 8am and our last session starts at 5pm. Sessions can be booked as far as 6 months in advance.
What types of therapy do you offer?
NonaThrive provides a comprehensive range of therapies, including play therapy for children, art therapy, CBT, DBT, psychoeducation, person centered, ERP, IFS, and solution focused. Our goal is to get to know you and your child and then work together as a team to determine which approach will work best.
How can parents get involved?
We encourage parents to participate in the therapeutic process, as you are an expert on your child and provide valuable context and support. We make ourselves available for brief updates and questions throughout the week so you always have a point of connection as things come up. We will also set up regular parent sessions as part of your child's treatment plan, which can help you better understand your child's needs and support their overall growth and well-being.
Do you accept insurance?
NonaThrive is a private pay organization. If you have an insurance plan with out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your carrier. We can provide you with a detailed receipt, known as a superbill, which includes all the necessary information for you to submit a claim to your insurance company.
Choosing to pay privately for your child's therapy is an investment in their mental and emotional well-being that offers several significant advantages:
Tailored, Flexible Care: We can design a customized treatment plan without the frequency or duration limitations often imposed by insurance companies.
Privacy: Paying privately offers a higher level of confidentiality and privacy. We are not required to provide a mental health diagnosis or share your child's sensitive session notes with your insurance company.
Specialized Expertise: Our practice specializes exclusively in play therapy, the natural language of children. This focused approach allows us to use specialized techniques that might not be covered by all insurance plans, leading to more effective outcomes for your child.

*We believe all children deserve access to support. We offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots based on a family's income. Please inquire about current availability during your initial consultation call.
What is your cancellation and payment policy?
We require 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel sessions without penalty to allow us time to fill that session with clients on our wait list. No shows and same day cancellations will be charged the full session fee. Session payment is required the day of appointment and cards on file will be charged the morning of your appointment.
We also offer 4-session packages with $75 discount, paid in full at time of booking.
